Although a sharps disposal container like the Kojak Safety Box alleviates the risk of injury and infection posed by used sharps, certain guidelines must be followed with regard to it. The safety box should remain stable and upright during use and should not be overfilled. There should be no attempt to take out medical sharps once placed in the box. Nor should there be an attempt to decant the contents of the box.
