This lactic peel is buffered. Buffering raises the pH level of the acid so that it does not work too quickly. A higher pH level will slow-down the action of the acid, and is thus safer for an at-home peel. This 50% lactic peel is perfect for the do-it-yourself-er or first time peeler.

Lactic is a great choice for those dealing with aging and pigmented skin – think liver spots and freckling. Lactic Acid will exfoliate the outer surface of the skin and encourage new cell turnover. It is a natural humectant, pulling moisture from the collagen levels to the surface of skin.

We have Cleopatra to thank for this peel. When milk turns sour, the lactose is converted by bacteria into lactic acid. When Cleopatra chose to bathe in sour donkey milk, the lactic acid was able to help exfoliate her skin and keep it smooth and beautifully clear.

Directions For Use

• Cleanse the skin with a deep cleanser.
• Apply layer of Prep A (or highest percentage alcohol) and let air dry.
• Pour a small amount of peel solution into medicine cup.
• Fold a gauze pad in half and dip into solution, saturating pad.
• Fold gauze in half again and give one GOOD squeeze to remove excess solution.
• Get a timer and set it for desired peel time.
• Apply peel in a HORIZONTAL motion across the entire face/neck.
• Apply peel again, this time in a VERTICAL motion across the entire face/neck. *This is to ensure the best coverage possible. (The cheek, lip and nose areas are the most sensitive, so they should be done last to avoid excess irritation-Avoid eye and mucus membrane areas. *A stinging/itching sensation is normal when using the Peel Solution, but a very mild sensation to no sensation at all is also acceptable as individual tolerances differ.
• Watch for any redness and neutralize acid with a dab of water if necessary.
• When time has ended apply Neutralizer and/or rinse with cool water.
